I worked with Tamika for about two years completely online while planning our destination wedding in Turks and Caicos and I can honestly say, I couldn’t have done it without her. It was overwhelming when my son told me that he and his fiancée would be having their wedding in Turks and Caicos. I had no idea how I would plan a rehearsal dinner for 80 people, followed by a Welcome Party for 180, without ever seeing the venue. I spent some time talking to a few venue options, but after my first conversation with Tamika Handfield, I was immediately put at ease and the decision became simple. Tamika was so friendly and calming and she assured me that everything would be OK and that she would handle everything. Being a very particular hostess, I had lots of questions and worries, and Tamika always responded with intention, best options and patience. She helped me design the menu from the Welcome Drinks through the desserts, and everything in between! Tamika was very knowledgeable on which selections would work best for our size event and the time of the year.

Tamika truly brought our dream wedding to life! Planning a destination wedding in Turks and Caicos felt overwhelming at first, which is why my (now) husband and I chose a longer engagement- three years! From the very beginning, Tamika was with us every single step of the way. She handled all of the communication with the resort’s departments (reservations, food & beverage, etc.) as well as provided us with outside vendors needed for both the wedding night and additional events throughout the weekend. Her recommendations were spot on. From flowers to DJ, hair, makeup, and photographer- every single vendor she guided us toward was phenomenal. They all came together perfectly, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better team. One of the things we appreciated most was how organized and attentive she was. Tamika always had our next call scheduled, and as we got closer to the wedding, her check-ins became more frequent. Her detailed notes and thoughtful follow-ups eased so many worries (especially since we weren’t local) and gave us complete confidence that everything was under control. When the weekend finally arrived, we had 115 of our closest family and friends join us, and it was truly perfect. Our reception was picture-perfect, straight out of our dreams, and everything flowed effortlessly. If there were any hiccups behind the scenes, we never knew, because Tamika took care of it all. Thanks to her, our wedding wasn’t just beautiful- it was magical, unforgettable, and everything we had ever hoped for.
